Morning PRAYER POINT

6. Search the Scriptures

Take some time now to open your heart to what God wants to say to you through His word.  You may follow your own reading plan or you may link to the two year cycle of the daily readings list.  If you are following the daily readings list, pray the AM Psalm now and PM Psalm at the Evening Prayer Point.  You may also divide the readings up between Prayer Points however it works best for you.  The main thing is not to rush.  Slow down and invite the Holy Spirit to bring God’s word to life in you.  Enjoy every “bite” of God’s word like a tasty meal.

Your words are so choice, so tasty; I prefer them to the best home cooking. With your instruction, I understand life; that's why I hate false propaganda. By your words I can see where I'm going; they throw a beam of light on my dark path.

Psalm 119:103-105 (the Message)

The Book of Common Prayer PSALTER (pdf)

All of the Psalms in parallel lines which preserves the feel of the Hebrew poetry (usually parallel couplets).  Great for praying and chanting (singing) the Psalms.
